Choosing the right door for your PAX wardrobe can be tricky, especially if you want to coordinate it with wall paint, flooring or other furniture.
A Guide to Planning and Designing a Modern Kitchen

Modern kitchen design has come a long way in recent years, with an emphasis on functionality, efficiency, and style. A few years ago I visited a small kitchen retailer in Northern Norway, the manager came up to me while I was filming and said "I see you film a lot on the outside of the kitchens, but it's the inside you should focus on, because that's where the big technical smart solutions are happening today in this industry" He was right, after that I always started filming inside the kitchen cabinets and what functions they offered. This was the kitchen I was filming when he approached me.

Whether you're starting from scratch or looking to update your current kitchen, there are a few key considerations to keep in mind when planning and designing a modern kitchen.
Layout and Functionality
One of the most important elements of a modern kitchen is the layout. You'll want to create a functional and efficient space that works for your needs and makes the most of the available space. Some common kitchen layouts include the galley, L-shaped, U-shaped, and island layouts. Consider how you use your kitchen and how you want to arrange the appliances, countertops, and storage to create the most functional space possible.

Here you see 3 different kitchen models, L-shaped kitchen at the top and below you will find a U-shaped kitchen and a kitchen with a kitchen island. Depending on your needs and budget, space and more, you have to choose a model that suits you.
When designing your layout, consider the "work triangle" - the distance between the sink, refrigerator, and stove. These three elements should be located in a way that makes it easy for you to move between them. You'll also want to think about traffic flow, ensuring that there is enough space for people to move around comfortably and safely.

Storage and Organization
Modern kitchens often feature plenty of storage options, from cabinets and drawers to pantries and shelves. When planning your storage, consider your needs and how you use your kitchen. Do you need a lot of space for pots and pans, or do you have a lot of small appliances that need a home?

One trend in modern kitchen design is the use of open shelving or glass-front cabinets to display dishes and other items. This can add an element of style to your kitchen while also making it easier to access items that you use frequently.

Another option is to invest in modular storage solutions, such as adjustable shelves or pull-out drawers, which can help you make the most of every inch of space.

Incorporating the Latest Trends
Modern kitchen design is always evolving, with new materials, finishes, and technologies emerging all the time. Here are a few of the latest trends to consider when designing your modern kitchen:
Sustainable materials: More and more homeowners are looking for ways to make their kitchens more eco-friendly. Options like bamboo, cork, and recycled materials can help reduce your kitchen's environmental impact.
Smart appliances: From refrigerators that can be controlled from your phone to ovens that can be preheated remotely, smart appliances are becoming increasingly popular in modern kitchens.
Touchless faucets: These faucets use motion sensors to turn on and off, which can help reduce the spread of germs and make your kitchen more hygienic.
Mixed materials: Mixing and matching different materials, such as wood and metal or stone and glass, can add interest and depth to your kitchen design.
