A few years ago, I, Mauritz, had the pleasure of filming this beautiful BODBYN kitchen during a visit to IKEA. While this specific dark green color is no longer available in IKEA's current range, it remains an inspiring example of how bold choices can elevate kitchen design.
Sophisticated Style with Deep Green Tones
The BODBYN cabinet doors came in a rich, dark green hue (NCS color code S 8010-G10Y, Gloss 25) that added a sense of depth and calm to the kitchen space. Paired with the classic panelled design and a semi-gloss finish, these cabinets offered a timeless look that was both bold and inviting. The color beautifully contrasted with light countertops and floors, making it the focal point of the room.
EKBACKEN Countertop: A Perfect Match
To complement the dark cabinetry, IKEA paired the BODBYN kitchen with the EKBACKEN laminate countertop in a white marble effect. This surface added a luxurious feel without the cost or maintenance of real marble. Highly durable and easy to clean, it was perfect for a busy family kitchen or for anyone who loved to cook and entertain.

Adding both charm and function, the deep HAVSEN ceramic sink created a farmhouse-inspired touch that felt right at home in this classic design. Paired with the sleek, brushed gold NYVATTNET faucet, the setup was not only beautiful but also built to handle daily kitchen tasks with ease.

The BODBYN upper cabinets with glass panelled doors provided a lovely way to display your glassware and favorite kitchen pieces. Below, the drawers and cupboards featured ENERYDA knobs and handles, which came in a classic, polished finish to complete the traditional look. IKEA also thoughtfully included their HÅLLBAR recycling solution, making sustainable living a seamless part of your kitchen routine.

What really made this kitchen special was the attention to detail. From the checkered curtains softening the window space to the cozy little dining setup perfect for morning coffee or a quick lunch, everything was designed to make the kitchen feel like home. The black dining table with cream-cushioned chairs fit right into the design, offering a quaint yet stylish corner to gather.
